Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: June 20, 2025

At HotelSkills.training, we are committed to making our training-as-a-service platform accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technological limitations. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access high-quality hospitality & professional training. We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website, Learning Management System (LMS), and e-learning course library to ensure an inclusive and equitable experience for all users, including individual professionals, employees of companies, and college students.

Our Commitment to Accessibility
HotelSkills.training is actively engaged in efforts to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).1 These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Design and Development: Integrating accessibility considerations into the design and development phases of new features and content.

  • Regular Audits: Conducting regular accessibility audits and testing using automated tools and manual reviews to identify and address potential barriers.

  • User Feedback: Valuing feedback from our users regarding accessibility and using it to inform our improvement efforts.

  • Staff Training: Providing ongoing training to our development and content teams on accessibility best practices.

Accessibility Features and Efforts
We strive to ensure our platform incorporates the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements and content are navigable using only a keyboard, allowing users who cannot use a mouse to fully interact with the platform.

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Our website and LMS are designed to be compatible with popular screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), providing clear and meaningful output for visually impaired users.

  • Alternative Text for Images: We provide descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images to convey their content to users who are visually impaired.

  • Captions and Transcripts for Videos: We are working to provide accurate captions and, where possible, transcripts for all video content within our course library to benefit users who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as those who prefer to read.

  • Clear and Consistent Structure: We use appropriate semantic HTML to create a logical and consistent heading structure, making it easier for users to navigate content.

  • Color Contrast: We aim for sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements to ensure readability for users with low vision or color blindness.

  • Resizable Text: Users can adjust text size through their browser settings without loss of content or functionality.

  • Focus Indicators: Clearly visible focus indicators are provided to help keyboard users track their position on the page.

  • Accessible Forms: All form fields include proper labels and instructions, making them accessible to screen reader users and those with cognitive disabilities.

Limitations and Ongoing Improvements
While we strive for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we acknowledge that accessibility is an ongoing process. Due to the dynamic nature of our extensive e-learning course library, which includes thousands of courses, and the continuous updates to our platform, some areas may still present challenges.

We are actively working on:

  • Legacy Content Review: Systematically reviewing and updating older course content to meet current accessibility standards.

  • Third-Party Content: While we encourage our content providers to adhere to accessibility standards, some third-party elements or embedded content might not yet fully conform. We actively seek accessible alternatives and work with our partners to improve their offerings.

  • User Interface Enhancements: Continuously refining the user interface to enhance usability and accessibility for all.
